Historical Battles

What a big disappointment to discover that Historical battles can only be played online or LAN with Human players. There is NO OPTION to select AI Opponents or Allies
How are you supposed to be able to hold tests etc?
A disappointing omission by CA in my opinion.
With Single Player you are able to select AI opponents in order to play and to test different aspects of the game and gameplay.
I am wondering if this will be corrected in the next patch?

I played Liegnitz Battle once.
I enjoyed it. A close defeat with the left army.
The AI played its army close and on hill.
I reached the slope edge far on the right not far from allied and killed many HA. But I was routed by some few mongol HC remaining and some HA.
Spearmen worked. Crossbowmen unuseful and routed at the beginning, but mongols tried to charge many times uphill, and suffered many losses by my heavy cav flanking and spearmen holding on the edge.
