nothing fantastic for the moment

mongol pics Custom8hbuildingef6

from THIS bif come currently
Korean Guard Polearm
Korean Guard Sword (and shield)
Korean Guard TB's (axe and shield for h2h)

conscripts are coming from the korean STW bif (so all troops do not look alike)

YOU WILL NOTE a veritable arsenal of weaponry - this allows us to expand the "guards" lineup at a later date if we so choose.
they have access to pole, jav, spear, pike, mace, axe and 4 diff swords...

korean light archers
(axe for h2h) (no shield)

mongol pics Lgtucnhihnewf1mc3

they have access to four swords and the axe. as well as shields,
this allows us to resuse this bif, with a diff shield for han-chun or "professional archers" whatever.

also (if we decide we want him to have a shield we can do that)
if we decide a sword rather than an axe, we can do that too.

all mong and korean inf art is done (yuan not planned for the next "quickie" update)
cav (Mong/Yuan) art done - song still to do (MHC, MCA, YHC, YCA and SLC are the only one planned for "quickie")
action and weap/shield text controls written for korean infantry, (Guard and Conscript)
korean archers, mong arch, all cavs and song inf/cav still to write

AND, when we do Korean Cav i will be basing them on the EEURO cav - helmets all look alike

For Korean Hwarang cav...Szekely?
As a barded or armoured Korean cav there is also the Khwarazmian HC. Thanks for the update.

Song Cavalry

mongol pics Song_c10

you will notice an impressive weapon array to pick from.
Also look at the men themselves, they no longer have red hair and brown boots.
i am thinking
Song Tribal Light = the dark brown long spear with mace (for h2h) (+3att +1def AntiCav)(armour pierce)
Song Tribal Chieftan = Bow with Black Handle Axe (h2h) (leader unit) (armour pierce)
Song Tribal HA's = Bow and Short Spear (h2h) (+1att AntiCav)
Song Tribal Medium = the wicked chinese axe (armour pierce)
Southern Mercenary Cavalry = wood shield, black spear, curvy sword (bottom right) (+1att AntiCav)

anyway Tribal Light will be in for now.

Barocca....Would you like to have my children? I've been waiting to see those MI units...and here they are Very Happy
So good to see the Mongol HA black horses...Stunning!
MHC...leather lamellar ... Fantastic.
The Koreans (was I the only one who liked them?)...Can't wait to see them lining up with a mix of these other units, I think they will make for a great blend.
Excellent work!

The only thing I would question is the kite shape shield. I'd keep the round ones for cav and if a square infantry shield is an option, use a mixture of round and square for inf.

Don't take this as criticism.

I did pass my opinion in the quote above.

I too would suggest these options. The kite shape seems to be out of balance with the rest of the armour. Just my opinion.

I think you misunderstood... I was talking about the Korean units ...as in MI Korean units. Most people regarded them as boring and generic, I always thought they looked good and historically accurate. Tunics such as those, from the invasion, are on display in Japan, sewn to the inside were overlapping leather squares similar to scale armour.

with the kite shaped shield i used the weapons array from tiberius as the base image,
(and added shields mainly)
will add square'ish shields to the Yuan and Han infantry
will possible add "wicker" style shields to Song infantry

for the moment i wanted the original roster (or a close approx)
and a few extra units (that way if i drop dead tomorrow the MI is at least in the mod)

- still building (based on the mshlem bif) Song Crossbows
HOPING to have all units DONE by close of trade friday
and HOPING to have them tested and working 24hours later

any of you pray, please do so (my pastor always said "you may not believe in him, but he believes in you...")
so it cant hurt to pray once in a while. ht_bow

That's good news, I was going to ask about the wicker shield. We will test this to bits on the weekend then.

safe - he failed to tell me he had sold his boat and bought a bigger one, half as long again and almost as wide again as the old one, we went out in conditions that would have seen us watching from the beach previously.

nothing to catch today, we spent some time nattering to others out on the bay and nobody was catching anything, We saw a good pod of dolphins and a couple of boat killing greenback turtles (so big if you hit em at speed you sink),

when it comes to fishing we have an advantage, an underwater camera - the kind you drop on a tether (which we do), so we can have a look at what the bottom really has on it, because you wont find fish in a desert, and there is plenty of desert on the bottom of the bay.

Using the GPS and Depth Sounder we found and marked a new cliff face, a new gutter and a new hole, but no fish there today, marked them for investigation next trip.
(neither cliff nor hole were on the charts, and the gutter is out of position too - some 200 mtrs away)

anyway, back to the units...
ht_bow

EDIT - here's the song crossbows
mongol pics Mshelm10
changed colour of leggings, modded tib's weapon array, short spear and hand axe, shields

NOW
I THINK I MAY BE LATE(ish) - a lot depends on me waking up early - (and Mrs Barocca)
but i have done what i said,
which is have them finished by Close,
but now they need be added and statted to a unit prod.
(which i want to do asap but am out of time now - is 7:15pm)

next is unit icons (which i am going to try and reuse existing (and ones from other mods))
(i hate making the things with a passion!)
and then add them into unit prod 1x1 testing all the way...
(lets hope i get the stats right too)

You've done a great job with the square/wicker shield. About the stats, are we going to give them same stats as Portuguese Teppos that I suggested?

Also, are we meeting online tonight? (sat morning for you) I can make it by 10pm BST.

all graphics sorted into folders and named are in a zip i sent to Jochi,
all that needs doing is duplicate existing entries in unit prod
and adjust stats in the unit prod

read the read me file about the horses

will try to get stats done later today, but right now am so damn tired...
so thought would email in case someone is a stats wizard.

hopefully later today i can have some time to do.

barocca wrote:will try to get stats done later today, but right now am so damn tired...

Sorry, I am no stats wizard, as you say. Only wish I could be certain of how to do this.

Have the stats been adjusted to allow for 9k armies?
ATM we are hosting 6k for mongols 9k for jap so we need all to be 9k compatable.

Take your time, get your sleep, you have done more than could be expected already.
When all is ready we will have fun testing you can be sure.
