Release dates and price with Play.com are still the same today as when I checked in January.
Amazon are quoting a release date of 24th November at the same price.

Made up my mind, pre-ordered Medieval 2: Total War today.
www.play.com £24.99 (€39.99 in Euro's)
Just hopeing that this new game will be a good investment.
I had a quick look in the MTW/VI lobby earlier. Quite a few of the old faces to be seen there.
So I now have Shogun WE, Medieval, Viking Invasion, Samurai Wars, Rome and Barbarian Invasion on this PC now. They all seem to be working OK.

Check your processor. Older AMD CPU's are not supported due to them not having sse2. Latest report says SP sse2 issues have been addressed but there are some 'residual issues' with MP that have CA now saying they can not officially support it. Have you ever heard of an Intel only game? The newer AMD 64 series CPU's are OK. I have been comparing the PC specs of those who have tried the demo and things look pretty worrying. Only the most up to date machines seem to handle max settings and low end machines produce ugly graphics. I don't know what to say now, I know I need RAM and the graphics card is looking a bit old but it may pull it off but now it seems I may only then be able to play SP as my CPU is an Athlon XP2000. That's a new PC!!!

Latest date I have seen is.......
Due for release 10th Nov.... this was on play.com today.
It appears sse2 has been addressed so we should have no worries about that.
May have to update to latest graphic drivers for this game.
Keeping fingers crossed.

SSE2 issues have been resolved for SP only. As far as I can see the residual issues mentioned for MP still remain. Time will tell if these are serious enough to cause problems..IE, DESYNC!!!!!!!
Latest drivers are required (but how often have we found older ones to be more stable?)
With your PC spec, I would imagine you will probably need to lower the settings and even then I think you will experience some lag, especially in larger battles. Hopefully this will not be enough to ruin MP, only time will tell.

OK!! All loaded now (took 45 minutes to install it)
Had a quick look... lobby seems to look slightly better, at least it shows the 'pings' now.
Still looks a little confusing about the chat options.
Player list...in the lobby name is Grey colour, in game name is red.
At least that is how it looked to me.
Not many have logged in to the lobby as of now, about 15 names there.
I notice that you now have to use a registered Gamespy account to be able to get to the MP lobby, same as for Medieval/VI.
That will stop the silly nonsense of youngsters logging and changing names at random.
I will report more when I have had time to take a look at the game play.
