First Blood!

Some actual battle footage from about 29 to 35 minutes in.

I thought it looked promising, we don't really know what MP is going to be like yet thought I hope the avatar unlock system is not there I would like more focus on different but balanced factions with different fighting styles.

Yes, I also think it looks promising.
I am also hoping that the Avatar way of playing STW2 game will not be used for TWR2.
I myself hated this way of playing. So unfair to newcomers to the game and those that didn't live playing at their pc. (No sarcasm intended) Neutral

They have to let us all start on a 'level playing field', all units available to ALL players, regardless of their level of playing experience. Not this tiresome way of winning battles on different parts of the map to unlock units.

Difficult to judge the 'vetting' system from watching that game-play.

Official Q&A - Post E3 from Craig - Creative Assembly Master and Commander

Q: What is the multiplayer element of ROME II going to be?

ROME II will contain traditional TW multiplayer modes such as versus battles (1 to 4 players per side, 2 sides) and 1v1 campaigns (co-op or versus), there will be some additional features added in here including a neat MP battlefield selector which we will be talking about soon. However, the Avatar Conquest mode from SHOGUN 2 will not be returning in ROME II; we believe we can create a much more compelling persistent multi-player offering for Total War that will appeal to multi-player fans with Total War: ARENA, and we’ll be bringing you more on that at a later date (get involved with the beta for ARENA here). http://www.totalwar.com/en_us/arena/

Well at least no grinding for unlocks on the conquest map!

Some of the avatar’s customizing features were cool, and may stay.

Hopefully all will have equal access to all advantages at all times.

*crosses fingers*

Nice find, looks good I am also interested in what they do with ARENA when it is out but I hope they don't skimp on Rome MP because of it.
