The Contest Map Empty The Contest Map

I don’t know if anyone has noticed but Alliance Steam Group membership is up to 133 as of this morning Very Happy

Of those newcomers many may be looking for some fun on the Samurai Clan Competition map. I wanted to encourage all inclined, to join the Nomad Alliance in-game clan (now on Tier 5) and lend a hand to this noble effort. You don’t have to change your name to do this, just come on over and get started. If you have a new FotS avatar and intend to stick with it, now is the best time to make game-clan move changes.

The only mistake that can be made when playing the map is to take it "too seriously". Other than that, it provides challenges and rewards that enhance enjoyment of the game from a unique perspective.

Enjoy cheers

Hi Tomi.
I had noticed that you had been sending out invites to other players to join the ^Nomad Alliance^ Steam Group.

We can thank the game play time put in mainly by ^Marcus^ for our Clan Competition placing in the Tiers.

We were at one time in Tier 3. Basketball

Some have already signed up to the ^Nomad Alliance^ clan for the clan competition.

I see that you have reverted back to your ^Tomisama^ name on Steam and our forum. Smile

Will look for you online when I have some time.

Now on Tier 4 Smile

Please Note: According to the manual "all" of your avatars must belong to the same game-clan to score Contest Map wins (which may or may not be my current problem - will see this season).

"All" ??
When I log-on to the ClanPage with either of my two Avatars selected (Shogun 2 or Fall of the Samurai), I see the same results...members, game win/loss, number of regions held and what position we are in the Tier/World.
Did not see any request to join a game-clan when I made my FotS avatar.
Will have to look further into this.

Multiple Avatars

All players can have a maximum of two Fall of the Samurai avatars and two Shogun 2 avatars. You can switch between avatars or create new ones by left-clicking on the swap avatar button.

The development of each avatar is completely independent of any other. However, each one is linked to the same Steam account, so the following features are not independently attached:

All statistics and leaderboard rankings
Clan membership (all avatars must be a member of the same clan)
All achievements

In the Total War Encyclopaedia book2

The only advantage I see to having multiple avatars is to enable multiple starting positions on the map to help coordinate with clan members on province building without having conquered everything in between.
Still it leaves much to be desired, as even this is of limited value rendeer

The way I see this (in bold and underlined) is....Each Avatar is independant of each other BUT, being linked to the SAME Steam account the three items, Statistics..Clan membership..Achievements, are ALL attached to each Avatar. They cannot be added independantly to an Avatar.

I could see how it would be nice to be able to have avatars in different clans.

Another use of having other avatars could be to start off at a level playing field with a friend who has just started playing and at the same time keeping the super avatar with his army of death.

I did some testing with this, creating additional avatars and experimenting, and to the best of what I was able to ascertain.

The development of each avatar is completely independent of any other.
Includes everything on the avatar (mon, skills, traits, retainers, armor sets), and army and navy management pages.
However, each one is linked to the same Steam account, so the following features are not independently attached:
But this totally separate from the rest of your account information, which is all added to the same results.
All statistics and leaderboard rankings
Your wins and losses all go to the same total, no matter which avatar you are using.
Clan membership (all avatars must be a member of the same clan)
This has to do with the clan map, and the fact that no matter which avatar you are using or map face that goes along with them, they all feed the same contest scoring.
(And that is why they have to be in the same game clan, it is in order to receive the score for the win is my guess.)
All achievements
Even though your avatars will have different star levels, they still all feed the same achievement page listing.

In other words the game gives you four accounts to work with “in the game”, but they all are under one Steam account, and all of the results are kept under that one account name. Sound logical?

That is what I have stated in my post above.

If you create the maximum of four avatars, two Shogun2 and two FotS, they will all hold/feed the same information but can be at different Star levels.

Clan membership (all avatars must be a member of the same clan)

They are automatically assigned to your game clan. You cannot make any additional single avatar you create a member of another game clan.

All good, I just wanted to spell it all out after my research, to be sure ht_bow

Three other things in passing:

The clan page seems to be working ok, but the leaderboard clan members ladder is not (I believe already acknowledged by CA).

Also, the extra 5 point bonus available in S2 for special clan retainer, has no counterpart in FotS. The 5 point proximity bonus is the same in both, but is of deceptive value, especially in the higher tiers where wins are gained by points in the hundreds.

And lastly, salute to ^Tsavong^ and especially Comrade Jose, for their efforts so far this week. I will be getting on my horse very soon, and see if I can lend any help at all.

Good Luck All cheers
