Tosa Cup

Post by ^Jochi Khan^ on Sun 05 Jun 2011, 01:04

Watched the Final of the Tosa Cup live tonight.

What a good win for Indigo using tactics.

His use of Bow Cav on the flank to disrupt Sabres use of Matchlocks in a box formation was good to watch.

If available the replay videos should be worth watching for those who don't have the game.

Hi Jochi,

I am glad to hear that the Tosa Cup - in spite of quite a few flaws that are still in the rules - took a good and honourable end and has a winner who can be congratulated on his good play.

I did actually take part in this tournament and although I was beaten in the first round, my part in it was great fun. My opponent was polite and fair. Thats how it should be. My hope is that the org will revise the rules and host the tournament again after some time and make it a recurring event.

For now I am looking forward to seeing the replay/video of the final, once it is out. bounce

Watch the Final games (video) ...

Link>>> http://www.justin.tv/azuretotalwar/b/287377692

Be aware that they are just over 2 hours run time.

With thanks to Justin.tv/azuretotalwar

Edit:-- Forgot to mention that the Tosa Cup Final is shown in the video as it actually happened.
All three games one after the other as they actually were played. Even the setting up and lobby interaction heh.
There was also a General v General interaction but this was nothing to do with the actual contest.
It was done to reset the vets for the final decider game.

Second Edit: It seems the finals replays are no longer available on this link. Shocked

I found it disappointing that the tourney reached the semi final stage before the penny finally dropped about att/def. Unfortunately, a fair few players had lost against the campers by this time.
IMO the tourney became a damp squib, beyond saving via a restart (face saving exercise?)

Good that Sabre did not win, as this player failed from the start to enter the spirit of fair competition. That said, what would have been the outcome if the rules were not applied?

Anyway, I'll watch it if I get chance.

p.s. Most obvious thing I noticed was range units need sorting.
