NTW Questions seeking for Answers

Hi Glyndwr,
last night I asked about what the little red flag means in the army selection screen. As you could not see the flag, I am posting an image here (nice image hosting facility, by the way).

I was looking for a 'flag' when you asked about it last night. 
Yes, I do see this against my own name/avatar in the unit selection screen.
If you look closer you can see the number 1 in the centre of it.
This has only shown on the first/top player in the Alliance 1 and Alliance 2 windows.
It does not show on any of the other players that join the game.
Maybe it is something to do with 'first player to join' each Alliance. Alliance being Attacker or Defender.
I have not seen any reference to it in any manual or forum discussion.
Although I prefer to upload to Imageshack and then post the link.

I think that is the designation of the primary Alliance player, the one who has the power to to kick other players in that Alliance
